Tasty Tuesday @ La Junta CDS. We had another great day celebrating Week of the Young Child! Chef Travis Masar spent the day participating in our COWP cooking activity, reading books, and answering interview questions from the children. Travis is a LJHS graduate and has owned Pig and Tiger in Boulder, CO since fall of 2020. A big thanks to him for spending the day with us!
We also celebrated the men in our program with a Father Engagement family night. Pizza was donated from Dominos and Little Caesar's. Families played BINGO and then we had a great panel of men from our community share their experiences in fatherhood and give words of wisdom to our families. Thank you to Max Cordova, Deputy Chief Scott Copley, Jake Martinez, and Mayor Joe Ayala for spending the evening with us!
Music Monday @ La Junta CDS - what a great start to the Week of the Young Child celebrations! Mayor Joe Ayala read and signed a Week of the Young Child proclamation, Gianna Ayala beautifully sang two songs from the summer production of Moana, Sarah Mahoney's Synchronicity Dance performed a piece from the Crown production, and the Koshare's performed two of their popular dances. Thank you to those mentioned above for a fun and successful day for our children!

La Junta will host a Universal Preschool registration night on Tuesday, February 7 at Columbian. You can tour the building, meet teachers and enjoy a frozen yogurt snack.
LJ CDS Parents: Parent Teacher Conferences/Home Visits are February 2nd and 3rd. There will be early release on Thursday, February 2 at 12:00 p.m. If you have not scheduled your visit with your child's teacher, please call the office.
