Early Head Start celebrates male role models

In Early Head Start and Head Start programs, we celebrate fathers and male role models who play an important part in raising children.

Recently, Early Head Start held a socialization event for fathers and male role models. The event had a superhero theme and families were able to decorate a cape together, sat down together for circle time to read and sing songs and play with manipulatives.

The Office of Head Start and our local programs encourage fathers and male role models to support their child’s learning every day through and by:

PLAY: Fathers play with their child to help them learn social skills.

FOLLOW: Fathers follow their child’s interests and encourage exploration and discovery.

TALK: Fathers talk with their child about what they are doing and learning.

LISTEN: Fathers listen to their child when they talk about their feelings and ideas.

LOVE: Fathers love their child as a unique and special person.
